It’s a lot of hard work but the outcomes and project potential is inspirational.
It all started at a PPG meeting when it was mentioned that there were lots of groups involved in care and wellbeing but Clinicians didn’t really know who and they were, what they did and how to get in touch. I said ‘I’ll go and get them and set up an event bringing Groups together with GPs and clinicians”. Mandalay Wellbeing CIC was conceived at that point.
Many, many hours of walking the streets, phoning, emailing, letter writing, networking the first event was ready to go in January 2017. 35 groups attended with NHS, GPs and Clinicians, it was a tremendous success, from relationships made drop in clinics, joint networking and patient engagement was achieved. The second event was in March and the third in June at which 75 groups and @ 500 patients attended. From this I decided to tackle specific topics so have created and run events around, Activity and Wellbeing, Gambling Awareness and Caring.
With the demand for social prescribing, self care and signposting in cities, towns and rural communities we are well placed to continue to tackle and deliver results.
We are looking to work with corporate supporters, groups and funders that can help achieve our goals.
